    Description

Rare Silver Champagne Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin ChampagneTaster Hallmarked. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS First Class Package.
The Champagne tester is hallmarked - Metal Argente which means silver plate, and by the maker - Lutz Dijon which most likely means the maker is Lutz and it is from Dijon, France. It has a diameter of 55 millimeters or 2.25 inches. It has a few small areas where the silver plate is wearing thin. It has the champagne house logo in the center of the bowl - VCP with an Anchor in the center of a circle surrounded by a hexagram. This is the first champagne tester I have found from The Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin House. The only reference to one I have ever seen was in a Veuve Clicquot - La Grande Dame De La Champagne Book written by Frederique Crestin-Billet published in 1992. On page 82 there is reference in a picture of the desk belonging to Louis Bohne, one of Madame Cliquot's salesmen who made trips to Russia to fill orders for champagne. Louis Bohne personally accompanied the first big consignment of Veuve Clicquot Champagne to Russia, as stated in this book on page 82. He worked for Madame Clicquot until his death in 1821. This is the only time I have seen or there has been mention of any Champagne tasters. This is a Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin collector's piece which is truly a rare find. U.S. buyers only.
